Don’t wait for your manager to give you feedback.

Instead, make it a habit to pro-actively ask your manager for feedback on the work you do.

Research shows that feedback-seeking behavior relates positively to creative performance—defined as “the extent to which employees generate novel and useful ideas regarding procedures and processes at work”.

For instance, based on 456 supervisor-subordinate dyads, a study published in the Academy of Management Journal found a correlation of 0.23 between the frequency of feedback-seeking behavior and creative performance.
